Bleh. Rain. Lots of it.
I wait it out for what seems like forever, but then decide I'm not going to let the weather get in my way, so I head out for the Subte. By the time I get there, the water's completely soaked through my hat, but my new REI jacket is hanging in there, so I'm still mostly dry. This will change as I walk from the Subte to the MALBA. After getting turned around a bit, particularly painful in the rain, I finally get to the museum and realize I no longer really have enough time to take a look around. I head back to the Bulnes station, grab some food, then head to my Spanish lesson.
My tutor had planned to share the pain again, but apparently he wasn't willing to share the rain as well. We headed to a cafe for our lesson, and the TV there was playing nonstop coverage of "Adios Nestor."
The day after Nestor died, the city was completely covered in these signs (the signposts were already there-- the spaces are typically used for concert and movie posters and just general advertisements):
This picture was taken in the center. Most of the signs elsewhere didn't have matching graffiti. But a lot were far worse for wear due to the rain. The sheer number of these things that went up in just a day was amazing.
